It’s that time of the year again, where warm hearted season jingles are playing in every store corner you visit. The lines at cafés for hot piping coffee are longer then when the new IPhone came out. All the so called “best stuff” is selling out quick in stores and online. You feel a sense of chilly weather in the air and all you can do is smile. I love this time of year; wait isn’t it just November? From the looks of things, you would assume it was the December season. With the way people are acting it feels like it is begging to look a lot like Christmas.
I don’t mind the holiday music, long lines, or even the traffic. This is one of the best times of year to bundle up and enjoy the seasonal cheer! Wait a second, how can you enjoy this weather unless you have the proper clothing to sport in these chillier temperatures?
It isn’t just about staying warm and toasty this winter season; we all need those timeless pieces in our wardrobe that makes us feel a touch of chicness. Those items that can cocoon you in pure luxury when you put them on. They never lose their appeal- classic, yet always on trend, leaving us sighing in contentment when we find them in our wardrobes.
Cashmere is exactly this kind of gorgeous luxury. Breathable, durable, and a sensory delight, this fabric has stood the test of time.
In the 18th and 19thcenturies, cashmere had a thriving industry producing garments from goat down. The shawls and other items arrived in France and created an immediate sensation with so much curiosity centred around the material. Plans were then put into place to start manufacturing the product in France. Today, all across Europe and around the globe this special material is very much in demand.
So when I heard that London W11 had a passion for cashmere I was completely on board. I collaborated with the brand on their new cashmere campaign for winter 2016. The company was kind enough to send me this one of a kind lovely cashmere jumper! It arrived to me wrapped with this beautiful orange ribbon, for me it truly felt like Christmas morning.
Eva-Maria Khan has worked for such incredible leading labels in the fashion industry including, Helmut Lang, Jean Paul Gaultier, Christian Dior, Prada, and Calvin Klein. She was living in Notting Hill when she noticed that the market lacked for a modern, luxurious, and versatile cashmere product. She aimed at designing a product that was perfect to care for, easy solution to dress every day for an effortless feel.
For Eva, London W11 was created, and named after the eclectic neighbourhood of Notting Hill that provides so much inspiration for the cashmere styles she designs.
This season it is all about cosying up to an oversized design with dropping shoulders and added luxury. I love this boyfriend sized shape and eye catching material that gives it a feminine silhouette. It is all about the details, by adding zips at the cuffs and back makes this sweater more wearable front to back.
I paired the charcoal soft sweater with skinny black jeans and grey high heels to stay within the colour scheme of this charcoal grey for a catwalk look. This style says, “I love a classic look with a bit of added details.” “Is she in Paris or Italy? Who cares, I just want that sweater she has on!”
The simplicity with a twist makes this cashmere sweater by London W11 a most wanted for winter. It will be worn more out of your wardrobe then in this season.
